The Finale

Officially, this will be the final event, organised by me.......

Post Trans Peninsular Hunt - Part 3 (end)

We reached Butterworth around 2:10 p.m.  After isi minyak keter, we then straight away shoot to the highway.  Traffic was quite heavy but still moving.

After much debate and hesitation, we exited at Kuala Kangsar.  Yelah, mula2 ingat nak exit kat Jelapang so that we could proceed to look for Nasi Ganja.  Tapi disebabkan masing2 dah kelaparan, keluar kat Kuala Kangsar aje ler.

Masjid (sorry, tak ingat namanye) at Bukit Chandan

Istana Lama (tak ingat pulak ler namanya)

One of the old collenial bungalows at Bukit Chandan.  Cantik dan sangat2 menarik perhatian kami

Mungkin semalam hari nasib tak berapa baik bagi kami.  Kedai Kopi Yut Loy pun tutup gak...kuciwa nokssss....Kitaorg then decided that better ikut jalan lama dan keluar kat area Ipoh...who knows, ada tempat2 makan along the way yang kitaorg blh singgah.

Lepas Kuala Kangsar, jeng, jeng, jeng....kitaorg lalu pekan Sg. Siput (U).....Dulu, arwah pakcik aku pernah tinggal di Taman Okid.  Quiet town and kitaorg pun stopover ler kat satu kedai makan berhadapan dgn Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Sg. Siput.  Beggars cant be chooser, right?  So, kami makan aje lar, and the food is ok.

Sepanjang2 jalan tu, asyik traffic jam aje....sib baik aku tak drive, yg kesian si Neena ler....aku sempat tido, bangun dan tido balik tapi still tak sampai2....

Kami turunkan neena kat hentian USJ seblm heading towards our office.  Overall, it is a good trip.....dapat menjelajah ke tempat2 yg jarang kita kunjungi....Hopefully, we would be able to do it again in the future....

Sg Siput (U), here I come.....

Post Trans Peninsular Hunt - Part 02

The next morning, we woke up quite early.  Then we headed to the coffee house for light breakfast before checking out.  Itinerary dah ada dalam tangan, our plan is to go for a Jalan2 Cari Makan trip along the way heading back home.

Our first stop is at Chowrasta Market.  Saje2 join the crowd at the market.  Kami memborong jeruk2 di situ.  The most "in thing" now is jeruk madu pak ali....apa lagi, kitaorg pun borong yg itu ler.  Although it was hot, it didnt stop us from wondering around.

We then stopped to try the roti canai at Hameediya Restaurant.  Located at Campbell Street, word of caution though that parking may be a problem here.  Be prepared to park quite a distance from the location that you want to go.  Tapi mungkin rezeki kitaorg hari tu, we managed to find a parking space very close by to the restaurant.

The roti canai here is superb.  They dont have the "roti canai biasa" here, they sell roti telur and murtabak.  Try order their roti telur and kuah kurma, you wont be disappointed.  The taste of the kuah kurma is simply superb, aku rasa depa guna rempah yg diadun dan dibuat sendiri....lain dari yg lain, cukup segala rasa rempah ratus nya....in short, you feel like drinking (I'm not kidding ya) the gravy itself.....

The gravy, kari and kurma...

Roti Telur

After the makan session, we wanted to buy the roti banggali at Mallia Bakery.  The thing is, I cant really recall the location of the bakery.  Ada kejadian lucu berlaku di sini.  Bayangkan ye, ada lar yang menggunakan khidmat GPS kat iPad, punya lar jauh direction yg diberi....berpeluh2 kitaorg berjalan, kalih2....the shop is so close by...kitaorg seumpama pusing satu tanjung baru mai bakery....wkakakakaka.  Memang kena kutuk ler GPS siapa tu.....

Roti banggali utk dibawa pulang -  fresh from the oven

Us and the rotis.....

Hajat di hati nak try the mee goreng sambal sotong tapi apakan daya, apabila kitorg sampai ke lokasi, gerai tersebut tutup.  I thought all the while the stall is open on a Sunday tapi tidak pada kali ini.....sob, sob, sob.....

Mari beratur tunggu feri

Bye2 Penang, till we meet again.....

Post Trans Peninsular Hunt - Part 01

Finally, the day that we have all be waiting for is here.  We flagged off from Sepang around 7:40 a.m.  With the question sheet and tulips in our hands, we headed off to the first venue, i.e. TTDI.  Berpusing2 gak lar mencari jawapan.

The route this year is to the north whereby the hunt ended at Sg. Bakap R&R.  Merasa gak lar masuk pekan2 kecil seperti Bidor, Tapah, Parit Buntar.  Overall, it was a good exposure for me and my team.  Semuanya dah bersemangat nak join untuk next year, insya allah.

Sampai aje kat Penang, kitaorg terus headed to area Tanjung Bungah. Then, kitaorg terus ke Batu Feringghi, Holiday Inn Resort to be more specific.  Check in bagai dan terus naik bilik, siap2 untuk dinner.

Tema dinner malam tu ialah Bollywood.  Gigih cik kiah mengangkut lenga sepasang....hehehe.  Lepas dinner, kitaorg balik bilik, tukar baju dan terus wondering around kat area night market depan hotel.  Lepas tu, stop untuk isi perut lagi.  To be honest, cuma kat 2 tempat nie aje yang aku akan sentiasa rasa lapar, i.e. Kota Bharu dan Penang coz the food here memang sedap2 belaka....hehehehe.

Naik bilik, siap2 apa yg patut dan terus tido.......

When you have bed as comfortable as this, you do not need to entertain yourself elsewhere.  Just get into the bed and dooze of to dreamland....heheh

Bollywood nite.....

Breakfast for the day...isi minyak dulu seblm buat apa2

Yelah, sebab proses kat sini dah 60% done and aku senirik dah bersetuju dan berjanji dgn pihak yg sudi mengambil ku....and tiba2 lak ada peluang lain, di tempat lain....What if tempat lain nie really interested and memberikan tawaran yg sungguh2 aku tak mampu tolak dan lepaskan??

Until the time comes, buat sementara nie, kita pelan2 kayuh.....lalui semua seumpama air yg mengalir.....que sera, sera....what will be, will be.....

Pre Trans-Peninsular Hunt

Ok, let's be honest.  We are all excited (or shall I say, sexcited??) for the Trans-Peninsular Hunt this weekend.  Firstly, it's a weekend getaway for us and secondly, trip to the north, the centre of food heaven!!!  Wallau wei, testing all the various, glorious, tasty food at the centre of food heaven with your buddies???  Are you kidding?

Ever since we got to know that the hunt will be to the north, we made plans....where to go, what to expect etc.  Some went to the extent of preparing a food itinerary, with stopovers in Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Kuala Sepetang, Sungai Dua and the island.  That's really advance and well planned.

As for me, right now, I am doing up our itinerary.....might want to stopover in Ipoh while on the way up north....Somebody recommended Nasi Ganja.  Personally, I would like to try the SS Ali popia in Ipoh town.  Can't find popia of equivalent taste/standard here.

We will then continue our journey and might make a pitstop at Kuala Sepetang for the ever famous Mee Udang.  Or we might even continue driving up north and stop at Sungai Dua...who knows...

The main agenda will be the night when we arrive in the Island.  Where to lepak, what to eat, where to go for sight seeing and do we have time to "mandi laut" the next morning??

Guys, so many things to do.......so little time, how???

Among the food that I would love to have this time round....

Chee Chong Fun.

Claypot beryani at Kapitan Restaurant, Penang

Mantis Prawn....

Mee Goreng Sotong at Esplanade......craving for this already

Drooling for roti benggali and kambeng soup...yummy!!

Last but not least, the penang popia......

Semua gambo adalah dicilok dari pakcik google/yahoo....from various sources...

NB:  How I wish I'm there now...
To wake up early in the morning and stroll along the beach....
I miss my good old days when I was working there......

Gardening 101

Most of the time, bila ada kelapangan, I would love to join my mom to do some gardening.  Mind you, bukan setakat tanam pokok bunga yek, kami selalunya sama2 mengemas, menebas rumput2, menggambur tanah etc.

Let's take a quick tour to our garden.....

Bergayutan buah rambutan merah

Begitu juga dengan rambutan kuning.  Yg nie kat tingkap dapur lokasinya

Kelapa muda pun ada juga

Cempedak yang sarat di pokok

Mangga pun sama banyak nya
